Biography

Janis Anton explores the narrative through a variety of media ranging from non-fiction
books on spirituality to performance art. Her current work embodies watercolor on paper
and artist books exploring the recurrent theme of family and transformations.

Janis received her BFA from California College for the Arts graduating with Distinction in
2004. She has exhibited at San Jose Museum of Modern Art, health Woman Made Gallery, information pills
Chicago, buy National Women Artists Association New York City, University of San Francisco, Frank Bette Center for the Arts, the Hive Gallery, and Perforce Software Headquarters. Her work is currently included in the Julle Harcos and John Huneke collection for contemporary arts.

In 1993 Ms. Anton received an NEA Grant to produce a performance piece, “Women
Around the Kitchen Table”. During that period Crossing Point Press published “Creating
Circles of Power and Magic” which examined the dynamics of the spiritual inquiry of a
group of professional women.
